Investor Intelligence
A publicly traded company on the Madrid Stock Exchange needed better visibility into their shareholder base. Their existing tools provided basic charts and ownership percentages, but lacked the depth required to understand who was actually behind each position.
The investor relations team was spending significant time manually cross-referencing regulatory filings, corporate registries, and market data to piece together the full picture. Critical ownership changes were often discovered too late.
We built a dedicated investor intelligence platform with three core capabilities:
- Live data integration. Direct connection to BME market data, automatically syncing investor positions as trades settle.
- Geographic visualization. An interactive map showing investor distribution by region, updated in real time.
- Ownership network tracing. For each investor, the system identifies linked companies, parent entities, and ultimate beneficial owners by cross-referencing official corporate registries.
The platform surfaced insights that had previously gone undetected:
- Identified executives from other companies in their sector who had been quietly accumulating shares over several months.
- Discovered that one investor controlled a significantly larger position than reported, by tracing investments made through multiple holding companies back to a single beneficial owner in the official registries.
"For the first time, we have complete visibility into our shareholder base. The platform revealed ownership structures we had no way of seeing before."
